All
of the Rescued Horses and Everyone here at
Under the Angel's Wings Rescue send out a huge
THANK YOU to Disneyland and all of our
Disney Volunteers!!
We
had the awesome blessing of being approved as
one of the many volunteer organizations
for The Give a Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer
program and we met a lot of really great
people who came out to volunteer and I want to
say THANK YOU to all of those who came
out and attended. We had a GREAT time and we
got A LOT of things accomplished. We were very
sad when Disney posted the announcement
that the program was coming to a close and
they had already inspired a million people to
volunteer their time and help to make their
community better. What a wonderful program and
we are all hoping they do it again next
year!! We have one Disney volunteer day left
on May 22nd where the few people who have
already signed up and committed will be able
to volunteer and receive their tickets and
this will be our close of Disney volunteers.
We
are still in need of volunteers to help out
though now more then ever since the Disney
program has come to an end and we do
not have a list of volunteers just waiting to
come out and help. We are in need of
volunteers Monday thru Friday from 4pm to 5pm
to help with feeding, watering, and cleaning
the horses. We are also in need of more
volunteers for Saturday May 22nd from
9am to 1pm (not for Disney tickets) to help
out with clean up around the ranch and
grooming horses too. We will also be posting
the additional Saturdays that we are doing
open volunteer days and could use your help as
well. We also need people who have riding
experience to help with exercising horses. If
you are interested in volunteering or
want to be put on our email list for
volunteers please let us know.

Shelter
Horses to be Euthanized and Need Our
Help!
|
We
have been contacted by several animal
shelters who have too many horses in their
shelters and they just like the dogs and cats
are preparing to euthanize theses horses if
they ARE not placed NOW! UAWR does not have
the funds to take more horses unless we have a
sponsor for them for a minimum of 2 months at
$150.00 per month.
There
is also a 25 year old Quarter Horse Gelding
that looks sooo sweet that I would love to see
get help. I do have a small donation towards
his first 2 months of care if someone
else can put up the remaining money to sponsor
him we need $125 a month for 2 months minimum
for him.
There
is a 12 year old pony mare that is suppose to
be sound and very sweet but it is unknown if
she is ridable AND she would need only $150 a
month for minimum of 2 months also.
Both
of these horses were abuse/neglect cases
If
you are interested in helping to sponsor
either horses please let me know
ASAP as we are running out of time and
extensions for theses horses to remain at the
shelters's.

Needs
Of The Month - Ways YOU Can Help!

THE MOST needed this
month is your help
to get a new golf cart
charger, ours is no longer usable and
is not fixable either. The golf cart
has been Our President's means of
transportation around the ranch to
supervise volunteers and to check on all
the horses since she is still not walking
without crutches. The golf cart has been a
huge help for her to get many duties done
around the ranch. A new charger is $500
but we have found a used charger that was
refurbished for $300. The other idea is
for everyone to ask around and maybe
someone has a charger they are not using
that they would like to donate to
UAWR. We have an older model Club Car and
the charger is a Crows Claw type plug and
it is a 36 volt.

are still in need of wormers,
we need Ivermectin Paste, Pyrantel
Paste , Anthelcide, and Fenbendazole
types, generic is just fine.

year old bay OTTB gelding and is very sweet
and loving. Levanto is race track trained only
at this time and needs to be retrained but will
make an excellent trail horse for someone

 "July"
3 year
old Bay 14.3 hand BLM Mustang gelding. He has 60
days training and is broke to ride and has even
been out on the trail and goes thru water too. This
sweet boy is adoptable thru the TIP program for
an adoption fee of $125 and all the standard BLM
